Australia Day Awards nominations are now open

Nominations are now open for the Balonne Shire's annual Australia Day Awards for 2023. 

These awards allow our residents to recognise the invaluable work being done by the many local community groups and individuals by nominating them for one of the award categories shown below:

  • Citizen of the Year 
  • Young Citizen of the Year (under 26 years of age)
  • Cultural Award
  • Senior Sportsperson
  • Junior Sportsperson (under 17 years of age)
  • Sports Administrator/Coach/Official Award (over 17 years of age)
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Community Organisation of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year

Nominations may be made online using the survey monkey link below, or nomination forms can be picked up from Council's Customer Service Centre in St George, or from libraries across the shire.
