Balonne Shire Pools

In our shire, swim season generally runs over the summer months from September or October through to March, depending on the weather. Pools close annually during the off season for maintenance.

  • St George Aquatic Centre is independently operated by St George Aquatics. 

    The operators offer swimming lessons, group fitness classes, youth and adult swim squads, and much more. 

    Facilities include a 50 metre lap pool, a heated artesian pool (BATHS), and the newly-build children's splash park. Amenities, change rooms, and a canteen are available to patrons. 

    Two gas-operated barbeques are available for free use however these must be booked in advance.

    St George Aquatics leases the pool from Council, which takes ownership of the facility.

    • (Public Holidays – 1pm to 4pm)

     

    From 3 Oct – Summer Opening Hours

    • Weekdays – 5:30am to 10:30am and 3pm to 6pm
    • Weekends – 1pm to 6pm
    • (Public Holidays – 1pm to 4pm)

     

    (Party Bookings available Saturday mornings, but must be booked in advance.)

    Please arrange with the Center Manager if you are planning a Party at the Aquatic Centre any other time.

    Dirranbandi Pool is independently operated by the Dirranbandi Pool Committee, made up of local residents. 

    Open during the summer season only, it offers lap swimming, fitness activities, and swimming lessons. 

    The facilty is a 50 metre lap pool; amenities and change rooms are available to patrons.

    Like many Council facilities, the Dirranbandi Swimming Pool can be hired for sporting events and similar functions..
