LDMG - Advice No. 8 - 11 October 2022 - 9.30am

This is an update from the Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) for the Balonne Shire. There is more rainfall expected towards end of this week, however New South Wales and Victoria will be most affected.

CORRECTION

Apologies for the expected flow reported for the Barwon River Mungindi at 8.5m – this was an error referring to the upper catchment flood levels at Goondiwindi. BOM have confirmed that the flow will be similar to current levels at 7m or under on the Barwon River at Mungindi and expected to remain at moderate for an extended period.

MUNGINDI

Barwon River at Mungindi was at 6.9m and steady at 8.00am today. Council crew and equipment remain on hand to monitor the levee bank. Moree Plains Shire Council are also making their preparations.

DIRRANBANDI AND HEBEL

Small rises are expected in the Balonne River system in the coming days. There is a minor flood warning on the Balonne River system with the Bokhara River at Hebel currently at 0.99m (below minor).
