Council is undertaking consultation on a St George Walking Network Plan and is currently seeking community feedback to help understand walking needs and opportunities within the township of St George.

This project will involve two rounds of consultation that will guide the development of a plan that identifies preferred walking routes, which will be used to prioritise funding to meet the needs of residents over the coming years.

The development of this St George Walking Network Plan was made possible thanks to funding from the Queensland Department of Main Roads’ Walking Local Government Grants program.

The stages of consultation are:

STAGE ONE - INITIAL COMMUNITY CONSULTATION - The initial community consultation includes an online survey of residents to ascertain the current use of paths, where new paths are needed and where current paths need widening.

The below survey will be open until close of business on 17 April 2025:

STAGE TWO – DRAFT ST GEORGE WALKING NETWORK PLAN CONSULTATION - Feedback from the initial online survey will be used to develop a draft walking network plan, which will be presented to local residents so they can provide their feedback. The engagement will include drop-in sessions, a workshop, an online survey and phone/email feedback.
