Grader Operator - Bollon

 The Plant Operator – Grader – Bollon is responsible for carrying out operation of graders on maintenance & construction works on sealed roads, rural roads and town streets projects as well as general labouring and operation of other plant and equipment as required. Grants & Executive Support Officer

The Grants & Executive Support Officer is responsible for the overall application, management and acquittal of all grant funding programs on behalf of Council for all projects approved under the Grant Policy and Project Governance Framework.

To source and facilitate successful funding and grant applications for the provision of Council services and local community projects.  Build the capacity of both Council and the wider community to successfully achieve grant funding. To ensure all milestone reports and acquittals are achieved in accordance with grant funding agreements. 

In addition, this position provides general executive and administrative assistance to the Director Finance & Corporate Services, including diary coordination, document preparation, meeting scheduling and correspondence management.

This position is full-time, permanent and is based in St George QLD 4487.

ICT Network Engineer

The ICT Network Engineer is Council's primary technical authority for ICT network and security infrastructure. Responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and budgeting of all network and security systems across Council's sites. Reporting to the IT Coordinator, this role owns the security component of Council's ICT Strategy, manages all associated hardware, software, and licensing, and is accountable for maintaining and continuously improving Council's cybersecurity posture, including staff security awareness and training.

Apprentice Mechanic

Position Overview:
The purpose of this Heavy Road Transport Mechanical Technology Apprenticeship with Council is to provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge through completing on the job working experience and training with an employer whilst completing a nationally recognised course of training through a registered training organisation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
If you love working with your hands and fixing things, you might have what it takes to become a Heavy Road Transport Mechanic. Heavy Vehicle Motor Mechanics specialise in repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles, which includes trucks, buses, agricultural or earthmoving machinery.

Day-to-day tasks may include:
- testing and diagnosing faults with heavy machinery and their components
- carrying out repairs, tune-ups, maintenance and routine servicing on heavy vehicles and machinery
- dismantling, removing and overhauling engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components and parts
- using welding, machining or hand-fitting to repair parts
- reassembling engines and parts after being repaired.
