LDMG UPDATE 12 MARCH 2026
Published on 12 March 2026
Re: ADVICE NO. 1
DATE: 5PM THURSDAY 12 MARCH 2026
The Balonne Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) has moved to ALERT status as welcomed inflows from the Condamine Balonne river system and the Maranoa River are expected to fill the Beardmore Dam and Jack Taylor Weir.
LDMG are monitoring the situation but does not expect impact on the Balonne River St George foreshore.
Council is on standby to disconnect our electric BBQs along the foreshore if required.
There are no expected impacts to our road network at this time, however, local road conditions may change with rainfall across the Shire today.
Recreational users of the Balonne River should be aware that the river will be moving fast as the gates at Beardmore Dam and then Jack Taylor Weir start to open over the coming days.
