Contact Balonne Shire Council for Rates advice

Balonne Shire Mayor Samantha O’Toole has urged residents to contact the Council if they have any queries about rates notices issued recently.

“Council is aware of a small number of residents who have not yet received their rates notices, issued on 17 August 2021,” Mayor O’Toole said.

“Anyone who has not received their rates notice should contact our administration centre to obtain a copy.

“There is still time to take advantage of the rate discount period that is due to close on Friday, September 17.”

Mayor O’Toole said that Council levies rates in February and August each year.

If someone has changed their contact details, they can complete a change-of-address form available on the Council’s website at.  change-of-address-for-rates-notices (balonne.qld.gov.au)

“Council can now offer electronic distribution of rates notices via email. Our customer administration centre can help property-owners locate the change of address form that must be completed and signed, with your rates assessment numbers to help us match email addresses to the correct property/properties.

“Also, people are able to enter into a payment plan with Council to pay their rates over a period of time. No interest charges are applied if the payment plan is adhered to. The discount will only apply if full payment of rates is received within the discount period.”
