COVID advice for Border Communities
COVID-19 testing is available at Dirranbandi and Mungindi Hospitals.
Anyone wishing to be tested should drive to the hospital and telephone the switchboard from their vehicle.
A hospital staff member will come out and administer the test.

Due to the strong community connection to northern New South Wales, we understand a number of people from Balonne have travelled to Walgett Shire (which includes Lightning Ridge) and returned in the past week.
Anyone who has travelled – on or since Thursday, July 5 – to any of the local government areas in New South Wales currently subject to lockdown should take a COVID test.
They should then follow the same requirement as if they were in New South Wales and remain in isolation at home, pending further advice.
Unless essential workers, residents of the Balonne Shire should not travel to adjacent areas of New South Wales while the current lockdowns are in force.
