Victorian outbreak a wake-up call on COVID

Back

Balonne residents have been reminded to maintain strict COVID-19 hygiene practices.

Balonne Shire Council Mayor Samantha O’Toole said today the COVID outbreak in Victoria shows no-one can be complacent about the continuing risk.

“There is a growing list of COVID exposure sites in Victoria and southern New South Wales, and, as travellers continue to cross the Queensland border in our Shire, everyone should continue to practice appropriate COVID hygiene practices.

“This applies across the board but is particularly important for businesses like shops and cafes that are frequently visited by travellers.

“Under Queensland Government rules, it is still mandatory for all hospitality businesses to use the Check In QLD app when signing people in.”
