Mayor Urges Community To Stay Safe And Stay Apart

Back

Mayor Samantha O’Toole has urged the community to remember the health measures relating to the Coronavirus following a positive telephone hook-up between mayors and the Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk, this afternoon. “It was pleasing to hear the Premier speak so positively about how the State is handling the virus,” Cr O’Toole said.

“But it is essential people do not become complacent and remember the golden rules – stay 1.5 m from others where possible, wash your hands frequently and get tested if you have even the mildest of symptoms. “These measures still remain important and our adherence to them is one of the reasons why Western Queensland has not had a confirmed case. “So, let’s all keep doing the right thing.”

Cr O’Toole said anyone who needed to be tested could contact the St George Medical Centre on 4625 5344 to arrange a test.
