Residents in St George will move to Level 3 Water Restrictions from Monday 4 November 2019.

Mayor Richard Marsh said Council had been advised by SunWater that the St George allocation had now reached 1000ML.

“Under St George Water Restriction Policy this level of river water allocation triggers Level 3 Water Restrictions,” he said.

“The change from Level 2 to Level 3 restrictions will see residential watering hours decrease from 6am-8am and 6pm-8pm three days a week, to 6pm-8pm three days a week.

“Schools and caravan parks will reduce their hours to 9am-10.30am Monday to Thursday and businesses will also see a decrease in hours to 4pm-6pm on their allocated days.

“Handheld hoses will still be allowed to be used.”

Cr Marsh urged St George residents to be vigilant in their use of this precious resource.

“To avoid being fined please ensure you have changed your automatic watering systems to the new times and only water within your allocated times as there are no warnings provided on Level 3 Restrictions,” he said.
