Balonne Shire Council is seeking applications from reliable and motivated individuals to join our team in the position listed below:

  • As the Manager Rural Services and Compliance, you will report to the Director Community and Environmental Services and perform a key role within Balonne Shire Council and the region. This is a multi-faceted position covering natural resource management, biosecurity, stock route management and local law enforcement. With a strategic approach, you will develop policies and plans that have environmental, agricultural, and economic benefits and lead and manage, a multi-disciplinary team of six.

  • The Tourism Services Officer - Casual is responsible for relieving staff the St George Visitor Information Centre. This will include assisting in the daily operations and administration of the Visitor Information Centre, assisting with the delivery of broader tourism projects and activities on a casual basis.
  • The Bollon Town Labourer is responsible for providing operation and maintenance to several areas within the towns associated with the Bollon work area.
     
    These include but not limited to mowing & whipper snipping, cleaning of public toilets, minor repairs to town water supply and town irrigation systems.
     
    This role includes general labouring duties and may be assigned to work crews within other areas of the shire from time to time at the discretion of the Bollon Town Officer and/or Senior Town Supervisor, as determined by operational requirements.
     
  • The Plant Operator – Roller - RMPC is responsible for carrying out operation of rollers (padfoot, smooth drum, grid, multi-tyre) on maintenance & construction works on sealed roads, rural roads and town streets projects as well as general labouring and operation of other plant and equipment as required. Assignment to works crews is at the discretion of the Senior Supervisor.

  • Responsible for carrying out labouring works on road and street construction and maintenance projects throughout the Shire. Assignment to works crews is at the discretion of the Senior Town Supervisor or St George Ganger, determined by operational requirements.

  • Responsible for carrying out operation of graders on maintenance & construction works on sealed roads, rural roads and town streets projects as well as general labouring and operation of other plant and equipment as required. This level of grader operator is a leadership role and can direct the work of other plant when no supervisor is present. Assignment to works crews is at the discretion of the Manager Transport Infrastructure.
