The Balonne Shire Council is committed to assisting community organisations whose activities provide benefit to Balonne Shire's communities. The application process is designed to ensure that all assistance is provided in an equitable and accountable manner for projects and events that meet the cultural, community, education and recreational needs of the Balonne Shire.
RADF – Regional Arts Development Fund Program
Individual professional artists, emerging professional artists, artsworkers, cultural workers or project coordinators based within the Balonne Shire have an opportunity to make application to RADF for community art projects. The RADF Program focuses on the development of quality art and arts practice for, and with, communities within the Balonne Shire. Applicants will need to demonstrate how their project will benefit their community in arts and culture in the Council area. Applicants are assessed approximately every six months and there is also out of round funding available.
Things you should understand before starting your RADF application
The six principles for the RADF Program:
- Supporting professional artists and artsworkers
- Supporting locally determined arts and cultural priorities
- Supporting regional arts development in Queensland
- Supporting cultural activities not supported by other State Government agencies
- Supporting the participation of community members in arts development projects run by professional artists and artsworkers.
The eight categories of funding available:
- Developing regional skills
- Building community cultural capacity
- Interest-free arts loans
- Cultural tourism
- Contemporary collections/stories
- Regional partnerships
- Concept development
- Arts policy development and implementation
If you have a project in mind which helps to develop arts and culture in the community, develop audiences, increase social harmony then it is worthy of an RADF application.
