Waste collection

Waste Collection Waste Collection

Balonne Shire has a two-bin system, residents have a 240L bin for general waste collected weekly, and a 240L bin for recycling collected fortnightly.

The two-bin service began on 1 July, 2017, and will extend the life of the Shire’s landfills as more recyclable waste is being diverted from our landfills.

The recyclable waste is taken by trucks to large skips at our waste transfer stations where it is held until it’s picked up by JJ Richards and taken into their Toowoomba processing facility.
