"Business Excellence Celebrated"

On the 8th October St George was the host of the Balonne Shire’s gala Business Excellence Awards Presentation Dinner held at the St George RSL. The Balonne Business Excellence Awards are in their 8th year and are co-organised by the Balonne Shire Council, Rotary Club of St George and St George and District Chamber of Commerce. Over 60 different businesses were nominated across the 10 categories so competition was tough and the presentation dinner was bound to be an exciting night. Nominations had been received from all corners of the Balonne Shire and represented businesses from Dirranbandi, Bollon, Thallon, St George and rural enterprises across the shire. The presentation dinner was attended by 270 business owners, managers and staff who came to collect their nominations, awards and to enjoy the night with work mates. The evening’s Master of Ceremony was Syd Heylen Jnr; who kept the whole evening light hearted and later entertained the crowd with his combination of humour and talents.    Sponsors assisted with handing out the category awards which included three staff categories:
