Licences
The Balonne Shire Council is obliged to enforce certain State Government Legislation and in many cases issue Licences under this Legislation.
EPA Licences
Under the Environmental Protection Act 1994, various responsibilities have been directed to Council. These include litter, noise, air, water and nuisance control. Authorised Council Officers regularly carry out inspections to ensure compliance with the Act. Whilst the Council is prepared to negotiate time for compliance with the Act, it is obliged to ensure that the Act is complied with and will take legal action when necessary. Schedule 1 of the Environmental Protection Regulation, 2008, list the Environmentally relevant activities that require licensing. Flammable & Combustible Liquids
Under the Dangerous Goods Safety Management Act 2001, the storage of Flammable & Combustible Liquids must be licensed. Refer to Council's Register of Regulatory Fees and Listing of Commercial Charges for information on fees. Food Hygene Licence & Premises Licence
Under the Food Act 2006, all operators of food establishments must be licensed with the Council. All premises used for food preparation must be registered with the Council.
