Shire Annual Town Clean Up takes place 5-7 March 2019

Got some items cluttering up your yard and home and haven’t been able to get them to the dump? You’re in luck as next week Council will hold the Annual Town Clean Up!

Residents are urged to neatly place any unwanted items on the footpath this week for collection next week (5-7 March 2019).

Mayor Richard Marsh said the Annual Clean Up was an opportunity for residents in St George, Dirranbandi, Thallon and Bollon to clear clutter from their yards or home.

“If you haven’t been able to make a run to the dump or what you have is too big, then put it out on the footpath this week and our team will collect it next week,” he said.

“Please make sure the heavy items you place out for collection, such as old fridges or cupboards, can be lifted by two people.

“If possible we ask that items be placed in three piles – one for metal, one for garden material and one for household goods – this will make it a little easier for our collectors.

“I would also ask that people be mindful of pedestrians using the footpath and place their rubbish in a manner that will still allow access.

“All items you want picked up must be out on the nature strip the week prior to your allocated collection day.”

Large items, such as car bodies, would also be collected by calling Council’s Community and Environmental Sustainability Department on 4620 8844.

The 2019 Annual Clean-Up Days are:

            Dirranbandi     5 & 6 March
