Public Notice - River Foreshore Footpath Works begin 14 July, 2017
River Foreshore Footpath works begin 14 July
Contractors will begin widening 500m of the St George River Foreshore footpath from Friday, 14 July, through to October.
The first section to be removed, replaced and widened from 1.2m to 3m is between the two ramps opposite the St George Hotel and Inland Legal.
This section will be barricaded to prevent public access. Pedestrians will be directed to use the earthen footpath at street level on St Georges Terrace.
Works will progress to the foreshore water bubbler located opposite the Visitor Information Centre and are expected to be completed in October. If funds permit, the retaining walls will also be replaced following the footpath upgrade.
Council received a $260,000 Works for Queensland grant from the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning to undertake these works.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these works.
