Public Notice - "Old Bullamon" Bridge replacement, Thallon
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be undertaking geotechnical investigations and tree clearing works in preparation for the construction of a new two-lane bridge, over the Moonie River at Thallon from 5 November 2018.
The geotechnical investigations will inform TMR of the best approach to take to finalise the design for the new bridge. At this time a date for the start of construction, for the new bridge, has not been confirmed.
The work will be undertaken during daylight hours up to seven days per week and will continue until approximately 23 November 2018, weather permitting.
This project is the final stage of the $14 million program aimed at improving the Noondoo – Thallon Road and intersections of the Castlereagh and Carnarvon Highways, to improve access to Noondoo and Thallon since the closure of the Thallon - Dirranbandi rail line in 2010.
