New Local Laws begin 1 July 2019

Our new Local Laws go live on 1 July 2019 and as animal registrations are also due on that date we thought we would remind you of the new rules on what dogs and how many you can have in town areas.

Also animal registrations will be due on 1 July - remember ALL dogs MUST be registered and micro-chipped.

If you have more than two dogs and live in the town areas you will need to make an application for an extra dog permit.

If you wish to keep stocks dogs (previously known as working dogs) within the town area, you will need to make an application for approval by the full Council.
