Council to catch up with Dirranbandi and Hebel communities on 7 December
The Balonne Shire Council is heading to Dirranbandi next month for the second of its Community Catch-Up Days.
Residents and community organisations are invited to meet with councillors and council staff to discuss any issues in the Dirranbandi and Hebel communities.
Mayor Richard Marsh said the feedback from the Bollon community in September was excellent.
“Council met with a group of Bollon residents and their suggestions have been taken on board and some already have been actioned,” he said.
“These meetings are a great way for residents and community groups to put their ideas forward for consideration and provide feedback on council activities.
“The aim of these catch-up days is to bring Council and communities together to consult and plan projects for our region.
“We are committed to building close ties with a wide range of stakeholders and encourage greater community involvement in our activities.”
Cr Marsh said the meetings were held in an informal setting.
“We’ll have morning tea, discuss community issues or ideas and updates on council work, before our team heads out to tour the area,” he said.
“I urge the Dirranbandi and Hebel communities to put a list together of what they want to speak about prior to this Community Catch-Up Day.
“Residents and groups can email their agenda items to email@example.com and put ‘Dirranbandi agenda item’ in the subject line to ensure it is included.
“This will ensure we allow enough time to cover those items on the agenda.”
Deadline for agenda items is Friday, 1 December, 2017.
