Council eases Level 1 Water Restrictions from 1 May
Balonne Shire residents will be able to water at any time on their allocated days after Council decided to ease Level 1 winter water restrictions.
Mayor Richard Marsh said the change would take place from 1 May, 2017.
“As the weather is cooling down, Council has decided to move to winter watering restrictions, which allows residents to use sprinklers and water at any time during their watering days instead of the two four-hourly times,” he said.
“Residents and businesses who have odd street numbers can water at any time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and those with even street numbers can water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
“Schools and caravan parks can water at any time between Monday and Thursday.”
Cr Marsh said watering with hand-held hoses was allowed at any time.
“Just remember Monday is a no watering day and I ask you all to be mindful of how much water you are using to ensure there is ample supply over the coming months,” he said.
“Residents and businesses using bore water should ensure there is appropriate signage which is clearly visible from the street. This will prevent any misunderstandings.”
